17th Annual PA Stone Skipping Saturday August 23

The PA Rock in River Festival is just a week away.

Held at the Beautiful Riverfront Park overlooking the confluence of French Creek and the beautiful Allegheny River.  Compete yourself or enjoy watching the amateurs and pros.

Where: Riverfront Park, Franklin, Pennsylvania (directions)

When: Saturday August 23 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

What: “How good a chukker are you?”  Competitors of all ages and abilities get to skip up to 6 stones.  Your best skip is used to determine a winner.

Overview:

The River Festival will include music, crafts, food, boat rides, rock painting for the children, a chicken barbeque and lots of fun! Join us at Riverfront Park overlooking the confluence of French Creek and the beautiful Allegheny River.

Watch amateurs and professionals, including 2011 PA State Champion Kurt “Mountain Man” Steiner and 2010 National Champion and Guinness World Record Holder, Russ Byars, compete for the state championship of skipping stones across the water.
