CBS’s “A Stone’s Throw” nominated for Documentary Emmy Award

The City of Franklin is very excited and pleased for Bill Geist, producer Amy Rosner and their staff at CBS Sunday Morning.  They have been nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy Award for “A Stone’s Throw” taped at Franklin’s 2009 Rock In River Fest/PA Stone Skipping Championship.  Congratulations!!!

The 2010 Stone Skipping Competition brought viewers and new contestants from all over the US and Canada.

CBS Sunday Morning is hoping to re-run the segment this Sunday, September 26thThe show airs from 9 to 10:30 AM.  The Emmy Awards Ceremony is Monday, September 27th.

    i caught the end of the clip on sunday morning with bill geist, but did not hear whether franklin is in pennsylvania or where. they said it was on the banks of the allegheny river, that is near pittsburgh(oor rather runs thru pittsburgh). so where is franklin located in reference to pittsburgh??? ps- bill geist is quite they story teller of the decade(i really enjoy his part on sunday morning) especially the ones about or involving nature. steve bitters of chas., sc phone -843-343-2120
